SEPTEMBER 2006

Church & Society

Shasta District Church & Society
Co-Chairperson, Julie Horne, is soliciting input on that committee’s “Proposed Portfolios.” These ideas are based on the Social Principles of The UMC and the need for better communication regarding specific issues among the Conference board of Church and Society, the District Board, and local churches.

The District group has outlined these categories:
I. Ecological – Concerns for God’s physical creation
II. Human Relationships – Fostering healthy relationships between individuals
III Community Relations
IV. Technological developments and information systems.
V. Economic Community VI. Global Community.

For an outline of specific issues under each of these six topics, call Pastor Julie Horne at (530) 343-1497.
