Walk to Emmaus
What is the “Walk to Emmaus?” Simply put, Emmaus is a spiritual renewal program intended to strengthen the local church through the development of Christian disciples and leaders. Its objectives are to inspire, challenge, and equip local church members for Christian action in their homes, churches, places of work, and communities.
The three-day weekend experience begins on a Thursday evening and concludes Sunday evening. You will break into small table groups, hear 15 talks on various subjects, do a lot of singing, partake in communion, and eat very well. There is also some quiet time. There are four Walks scheduled for the late summer and fall:
Mountain Trails Walk to Emmaus Community:
- Men’s Walk: Redding First UMC, Sept. 28 to Oct. 1
- Women’s Walk: Redding First UMC, Oct 12-14
Northern California-Nevada Emmaus Community:
- Men’s Walk: Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, Granite Bay, CA 11/9-12
- Girls’ Chrysalis Flight (for teens and young adults) Merced UMC, Feb. 8-11, 2007
- Boys’ Chrysalis Flight: Merced UMC, Feb. 22-25, 2007
These are the only Chrysalis Flights scheduled for 2007.
